In addition to his mother, Andrea was preceded in death by his oldest sister, Validia Ferguson; maternal grandmother, Catherine Scott; and paternal grandparents, Charlie Harris, Sr. and Mary Alice L. Harris.

In high school Andrea met and later married his lifelong best friend, Julia D.
