A strong continuation of Kamala’s story.
The opening two issues are fun, giving Kamala a bit of a roadtrip only to have Discord and Lockdown ruin it. Ms. Marvel's rogue costume doesn't quite get resolved here, so it could be a similar theme, but turn out differently. Loved everything!!! This arc wasn’t as much of a home run as the debut, but Ahmed does a nice job both moving Kamala forward while also drawing extensively from her previous stories. As a monster of Ms. Marvel’s own making wreaks havoc across New Jersey, Kamala’s father clings desperately to life in the hospital.
Loved the storyline! I think he has a handle on Kamala's voice, he has a grasp on her relationships with friends and family, and the story elements not related to the suit worked. 4: Last Days (Ms. Marvel (2014-2015)), Ms. Marvel Vol. Kamala and company still have consistent characterization, and Kamala and Bruno are given a chance to grow in their relationship. Between her space adventure, her complicated feelings for Bruno and a looming family tragedy, Ms. Marvel really needs a break.
