My favorite parts were in the first 20-30 minutes when Frank and his best friend, Tonny (Mads Mikkelsen), share some Tarantino-esque exchanges about whatever was on their minds at the time. If you've seen the other two, by all means check this out. Another thing about the production that makes it great is the fact that many of the locations, props and costumes are nondescript, giving it a real sense of authenticity. i actually went through the registration process on here solely to come on and defend against some of the attacks i saw of this film. The generic trailer for the trilogy as a whole makes these films look very violent however I think the violence is a necessary result of the story and there is nothing over the top about it. I don't mind gritty realism, and the cinema verite style in which the film is shot was handled quite well, but I never connected with the story all that much. Pusher is a 1996 Danish crime drama co-written and directed by Nicolas Winding Refn, in his film debut.

Before watching this, I did scope a few reviews just to see what kind of film I was getting into, and one comparison I saw a few times was with MEAN STREETS.
