My therapist recommended this book to me when I first started seeing her. (p.51), ‘The second stage of the projective process arises out of the often gradual perception of discrepancy, the widening gulf between who the Other is supposed to be and our concrete experience.’ (p.51). This book really helped me see the patterns I had, and it helped me see how we have set up love and relationships for failure with expectations and fantasies that aren't realistic.

Outstanding exploration and synthesis of our search for the Magical Other, the Lost Paradise, those dejected split off scared parts of ourselves, and the ways in which we can work to becoming whole and still believe in magic :) Honestly, I think this book is a must read.
