It was at a level that I believe that would give a PGA professional grief should they get in there.. Currently they have lost some fairways and traps, but it is still playable. The wait staff is very accommodating.

The pace of play was also horrendously slow and nothing was done to speed things up. Greens replaced and new sod in places. The rough is fairly long. Extreme elevations, and the course looks like it's been cut out of the woods.

This person made sure he dug up the fairway as he could have driven in the dry area but I guess they felt it necessary to dig up the fairway. Well maintained fairways and sand traps with attention to drainage.

Greens rolled well, but not premier yet. The cups have been turned upside down in the holes to prevent the golf ball from going into the cup. Then the management of the course decided it was time to perform miracles and they certainly have!!!
The course was in the best shape that I have seen it and the course was not crowded (no pace of play issues, we finished in 3.4 hours). Not sure what greens the post from August 2013 were playing. This is the version of our website addressed to speakers of English in the United States. As others have stated, the bunkers have "new" sand and are being raked properly. Bad spots in fairways should green up in a few weeks. Will absolutely be back!!! Even the cart path is in horrible condition.They shouldn't be charging full price with the course in this shape. It’s a New Day at Skybrook! Few patchy spots on a couple greens but nothing major. and overall, the condition of the course was really good. Do yourself a favor. I am glad to say they are spending time and money on the course and it shouldn't be long before its back in shape!The price is still a little high for what it is, but you can buy online and save some cash.

I used to live in the neighborhood but have since moved out. They made me feel like my money was not good enough for them.

Pace of play still slow but that is the type of golfer playing the course. It's $45/golfer after 2pm (twilight) on weekends. We quit after 10 holes and voiced our complaints but the employee in the the clubhouse who basically said that's just how it is.
This is one of my favorite courses and the staff has worked hard to bring it back into good condition. Yelp says they close at 7, but that is not correct. The S.O. Rough has been raised up a little and looks like fairways tightened.

There was a backhoe just off the green on the front nine (4 or 5 if I remember correctly).
The fairway is cut to 1/2 inch and the rough is 3/4. I would agree with the other person's comment about pace of play. I used to live in the neighborhood but have since moved out.

Conditions were pretty good despite all of the rain we've gotten recently. Other than the slight change in color I wouldn’t have known the difference. I was happy with the layout of the course but the greens definitely need some attention. This course does have great elevation changes and I like the course. Rained 4 inches the morning before a 12 pm tee time and was still raining at scheduled tee time. I am a past member and still love playing here. Firstly the course is almost double what other green fees are in the area and I’m first in line if it’s worth it, but honestly the conditions were atrocious.

Each hole was sponsored and sponsor's name was clearly displayed.We got the vibe that Skybrook values community. My only complaint is that play was EXTREMELY slow.
From the Championship tees the course covers over 7,000 yards of remarkably mountain like terrain. Food & Beverage service on the golf course is Take Out Only for all food orders. The golf pro he spoke with was friendly and accommodating. Dramatic elevation changes and generous landing areas provide a friendly yet challenging round of golf for the Charlotte golfing community. There are a few rough/bare patches around in and around the fairways but there were maintenance workers addressing some of the worst areas, which I was happy to see. Fairways in great shape too. Skybrook is professionally managed by Charlotte based Pinnacle Golf Properties. At least one bunker was also under construction, with exposed wood guidelines making it impossible to play out of it. I suppose it speeds up play but there are really no challenges out there other than a few deep bunkers and some water on a couple holes. Not only was it littered with weeds, but it was so deep we lost many balls just off the fairway. So bad that my muscles ached in places I didn't know could.
It is in the worst shape ever! The course is covered with crabgrass and weeds everywhere. Additional Convenience Fee for single cart requests.
The course rating is 73.4 and it has a slope rating of 132 on Bermuda grass.
We have moved the credit card swipe to the countertop and are asking all golfers to swipe their own card when checking in for golf. I am even thinking about joining again.
